Virtual Consultations
HIPAA Compliance Notice
-
HIPAA refers to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, a federal law enacted in 1996 to protect the privacy and security of individuals' health information.
-
While personal health data stored on our systems is encrypted and secure, messages sent via email or text are not encrypted and may be vulnerable to unauthorized access.
-
Common platforms like Gmail®, Yahoo®, and Hotmail®, along with standard mobile carriers, typically do not offer encrypted messaging services.
-
Because digital communication is a preferred and practical option for many patients, HIPAA has provisions that allow for it—under specific conditions.
-
According to these provisions, as long as patients are informed of the potential risks and still choose to proceed, healthcare providers are permitted to communicate using unencrypted methods—even when those messages contain personal health information.

Instructions on your virtual consultation exam
See what orthodontic treatment is right for you, starting with a virtual consult from your phone.
Step 1:
Grab your phone, a friend, and find some good lighting. We recommend using natural lighting without filters. This is a judgment-free zone.
Step 2:
Use two spoons to gently pull your cheeks back and snap clear photos of your smile according to the instructions below. The clearer the photos, the better Dr. Parsaei will be able to evaluate your treatment. Watch the video below for tips!
Step 3:
Fill out the form below and click "submit." Our virtual consultation gives you a personalized assessment from Dr. Parsaei, who treats each case with the same attention as an in-person visit.
Step 4:
Email your photos to hello@yportho.com, including your first and last name in the subject line.
Step 5:
Await a thoughtful, detailed response from Dr. Parsaei within just a few days! While a full diagnosis requires in-office records, you’ll get expert insight into what your treatment might involve. This could include whether braces or aligners are a good fit, if additional records are needed, and what next steps could look like.
